Jerrod Shouse founded Shouse Consulting after nearly a decade of working in Oklahoma state government.  Jerrod began his career with six years on the staff of Governor Frank Keating.  He worked alongside the governor as his personal assistant and traveled with him to nearly all of Oklahoma's seventy-seven counties and to over thirty-five states to promote the governor's pro-growth and economic development agenda for Oklahoma.

Additionally, Jerrod served as a policy advisor to the governor on a variety of issues, including education, economic development, health care, transportation, energy, and public safety.  He worked daily on the governor's behalf with cabinet secretaries, state legislators, agency directors, and other local, state, and federal elected officials.  Jerrod served in the Keating Administration from 1997 to 2003.

Later, Jerrod served at the University of Oklahoma where he was appointed by OU President David L. Boren to serve as university press secretary.  In this role Jerrod acted as the spokesperson for Boren, as well as for the entire university, to local, state, and national media, where he was interviewed for countless television, radio, and newspaper stories.  He coordinated all media availability for the president and developed press and public relations strategies for OU, while additionally assisting in crafting the communications for various university officers and their departments.   Jerrod also served on behalf of the president on a variety of campus boards and committees.

While serving as press secretary, Jerrod served a dual role at OU as special assistant to the president for university outreach, which gave him additional duties in the areas of state legislative relations, university fund-raising, and alumni relations.

Jerrod Shouse is a native of Grove, Oklahoma and is a fifth generation Oklahoman.   He attended the University of Oklahoma where he earned his undergraduate degree in public administration.
